Umiya Mataji Unjha Mahotsav 2009 | 18th Shatabdi Rajat Jayanti Mahotsav of Umiya Mata

The Umiya Mataji Temple came into the being in the year Samvat 156 – 212 and the Pranpratistha was done by the king Vrajpal Sinhji. After 1800 years it was again decided to induce the new life into the statue and do the Pranpratistha again with the Shastriya rituals and hence from 23/11/1976 to 29/11/1976, the 18th century Mahotsava was celebrated. Nearly 18 lacs devotees had come to visit the same and ay their homage.The entire population of Unjha worked very hard to make this Mahotsava a historical success. Government bodies, newspapers and radio also gave huge contribution.

The main sponsorer of this mahotsava was, late shri Somabhai Shankardas Mollot unjhawala. The religious flag hoisting was done by Shri Patel Balchandradas Umeddas. The main priest for the mahotsava was Main Acharya of Nadiad, learned priest Agnihotri Shri Shukdevji Maharaj.
At the beginning of the Mahotsava, the trust had only Rs. 7 lacs and by the end of the mahotsava the community offered Rs 52 lacs in the feet of Mataji. With the expenditure to the tune of Rs. 8 lacs, there were savings of Rs. 44 lacs.

Post the 18th century Mahotsava, the Patidar samaj united. The place of Mataji became the centre of trust and prayers, They thought about the development of the community and travelers. Pathikashrams, canteens etc laced with modern amentites were developed for the visiting devotees. The Silver Jali, the the golakh, kanthdo and the temple doors were constructed. Satsang hall land was donated by Shree patel Talsidas Jordas Rusate and is identified by his name.The pathikashrams were developed at Ambaji, Bahucharaji and Sola- Ahmedabad.

Umiya Mataji Social responsibility activities
More and more people started to visit the Ma Umiya’s temple and the donations increased manifold. The community also took huge strides in progress. They started to think about the backward and deprived people of the society, and thinking of it as their moral and religious duty, they have actively taken forward their social responsibility.

The important facts about the 18th century mahotsava
18 to 20 lac people visted the temple premises
Rupees 52 lacs were offered to Mataji
‘The Kadva Patidar community united with this celebration. The worship and trust on the Mataji increased manifold. The brotherhood also increased.
The cultured people celebrated cultural Mahotsava
People awoke to new llife with this Mahotsava
With the blessings of Mataji, all became happy and prosperous and started to enjoy better standard of living.
The girl child was nurtured.
People atarted coming once a year to the temple.
Kadva patidar community became socially active and respectable.
This Mahotsava became the stepping stone of the progress path of the kadva Patidar community.

The Temple after the Mahotsava

The !8th century mahotsava was celebrated and the Kadva Patidar community became united. The Shree Umiya Mataji temple became the centre of Kadva Patidar community’s trust and faith. Society started looking with respect towards the flag of the Mataji. The trust took upon itself the social responsibility too besides the religious duties, that led to various socially relevant activites being undertaken.

First use of the funds collected during the Mahotsava was made towards making the visitng devotees comfortable.In the year 1977-78, the Pathikashram and canteens, laced with the modern amenities were built. Their inauguration was done by Shri Sheth Hariprasad Durgaprasad Lashkari. There were 36 rooms, 3 store rooms, one conference room and 5 big halls. The canteens were big enough to accommodate 400 people together.The meals were cooked on the cooking gas. Also in the temple, the silver ‘jali’, silver ‘golakh’ and silver ‘kanthedo’ were constructed. The silver doors were constructed with the 368 kilograms of silver.

Besides the Tower, Rs. 17 lacs were spent to build a grand office. Above that 15 rooms were built for the visitors and one conference room was made. In the southern part of the Mataji’s temple a Satsang Hall was made. In lieu of the land donated, the Satsang hall bore the name of Shri Patel Talshidas Jordas Rusat.

Besides these, above the Mansarovar, more 30 rooms were constructed for the travelers, out of which 3 rooms were Air conditioned.

Also, there were Pathikashrams built at Ambaji, Bahucharaji and Sola-Ahmedabad.

CAT EXAM 2009 ONLINE SERVER CRASHED

CAT 2009 kicks off amidst controversies

Students all over India appeared for the most sought after MBA entrance exam- CAT 2009 online today for the first time. While there were numerous speculations in terms of technical/operational feasibility, paper pattern, etc. the CAT exam kicked off with numerous warnings regarding its strict non-disclosure agreement.

There have been reports about technical difficulties arising at various CAT 2009 test centres all across India. CAT 2009 exam was canceled due to server crashes resulting in many students being

left in a lurch. Exams were canceled at the centres in these cities- Bhopal, Lucknow, Pune, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkatta Indore and New Delhi.

The HRD ministry states that all decisions regarding the CAT will be taken solely by the IIMs. In turn, the IIMs have said that the exams of the affected students would be rescheduled. News reports claim that the servers crashed as a result of students registering for the exam at multiple centres. This news is yet to be confirmed.

In all approximately 200 students were affected by these crashes.

A pair of aspiring reality TV stars crashed the White House state dinner - and cozied up to politicians and celebrities for photos the couple posted on Facebook.

Tareq and Michaele Salahi, possible stars of the new show "The Real Housewives of Washington," were not on the guestlist for Tuesday night's star-studded dinner, but managed to get past the tight security charged with keeping the unwanted out, the Washington Post reported.

The Salahis, the first people ever to successfully crash a state dinner, arrived about halfway into the party. He was dressed in a tux, she wore a red and gold gown.

The wife, a former Redskins cheerleader, is one of the finalists for the upcoming Bravo cable show.

The northern Virginia couple chronicled their night at the White House with a photo spread on Facebook, where they're seen posing with Vice President Biden and Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel - whom the Salahis improperly identified as "Ron."

"Honored to be at the White House for the state dinner in honor of India with President Obama and our First Lady!" they wrote on a joint Facebook listing.

The polo-playing socialites posted pictures of themselves with Katie Couric, Rep. Ed Royce (R-Calif.), D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty, Bollywood composer AR Rahman and PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi.

The White House confirmed to the Washington Post that they were not on the guestlist. Asked via Facebook why they were not on the list, Michaele Salahi said "it was a last-minute attending."

The Secret Service said the President was never in danger at the party despite the guestlist slip. The couple - like everyone else - were fully screened for weapons before they got in, the Secret Service said.

The uninvited guests could face a trespassing charge unless someone from inside the White House staff slipped them in.

A spokesman told the Washington Post that a Secret Service checkpoint failed to "follow proper procedure to ensure these two individuals were on the invited guestlist."

An official review is under way.

Bravo announced in May that the "Real Housewives" program's next stop would be Washington and they would be "scouting the D.C. area to identify...women who have their pulse on the most important cultural events, political galas, gallery openings and fund-raisers in Washington society."

A publicist for the Salahis denied the couple crashed the party, saying they "were honored to be a part of such a prestigious event. They both had a wonderful time."

DJ Peachez was born and raised in Central Virginia. She is a graduate of JMU where she majored in Marketing, minored in Music Industry and was an Honors Scholar. During her 6 years as a DJ, she has worked hard to cultivate her talent and keep the true art of hip hop music alive. Whenever she touches the turntables, you can see her love for the art and the joy of moving a crowd.

DJ Peachez first touched the turntables during her freshman year of college in September of 2000 at James Madison University. She stopped by the college radio station and spoke with the urban director, who graciously took time every week to teach her the basics of turtabilism: how to scratch, back up (repeat phrases) and mix songs. She saw DJing as an opportunity to release stress and make money to pay for her tuition and books. She decided on the name Peachez, since that was the nickname her relatives gave her (because of her light skin tone).

By Junior year, she was performing for events and shows all over JMUs campus and DJing for Another Sure Shot Entertainment, a booking company from Virginia Beach, VA. Through that company, she opened up for the Clipse at Virginia Unions Homecoming and BET Comic View Comedians. She has also performed at Lynchburg College, UVA, and VCUs Homecoming 2006 at Mr. Bojangles. She did such a good job at the VCU homecoming party that Quest from Atlantic Records named her "First Lady of the Cap City." She has also performed at JMUs homecoming for 6 years in a row.

In addition to colleges, she has performed at various locations in Norfolk, Lynchburg, and Richmond, VA. This list includes, The Spectrum (Lynchburg, VA), Fevers (Farmville, VA), Mr. Bojangles, Club 321, Tonic, The Matrixx Room, The Cherry Lounge (Richmond, VA). She also performed at Afram Fest in Norfolk, VA (Memorial Day Weekend) 2 years in a row.

DJ Peachez has over 5 years of radio experience. She has been on JMU College radio (WXJM), Charlottesville public radio (WNRN), 106.5 The Beat, and, she is currently on Power 92 (Radio One) in Richmond, VA.

DJ Peachez is looking forward to further developing her craft as a radio, mixtape, battle, and concert DJ. In addition, she wants to do music production and concert promotion. Whatever the future may hold, she will continue to stay true to the art and move crowds.

Bacon and Green Onion Cornbread Dressing | Cornbread Dressing Recipes Online

Servings: Over 8

Difficulty: Easy

Cook Time: 30-60 min

Whether you say stuffing or dressing, this is bound to be a hit at your Thanksgiving dinner table.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon softened butter

8 ounces bacon, cut into 1/2-inch pieces

1 cup chopped onion

3/4 cup chopped red bell pepper

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1/4 teaspoon cayenne

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon minced garlic

1 cup thinly sliced green onion

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

4 1/2 cups chicken stock or canned low-sodium chicken broth

2 eggs

One recipe Cornbread or 8 cups coarsely crumbled cornbread

Cooking Directions

Preheat the oven to 400°F.

Butter a 3-quart baking dish with the softened butter.

Add the chopped bacon to a 10-inch skillet and set over medium high heat. Cook the bacon, stirring as needed, for 5 minutes until crispy and fat is rendered. Drain all but 1 tablespoon bacon fat from the pan and reserve. Return the pan of bacon to the heat.

Add the onion, pepper, thyme, cayenne, black pepper, and salt to the bacon. Continue to cook, stirring as needed, for 5 minutes until the vegetables are soft. Add the garlic, and cook for 30 seconds longer. Remove the pan from the heat. Stir in the green onion and parsley.

In a small bowl whisk together the chicken stock and eggs.

Add the crumbled cornbread to a large mixing bowl. Add the vegetables and chicken stock mixture and stir to combine thoroughly. Transfer to the prepared baking pan.
Drizzle 1 tablespoon of the reserved bacon fat over the top. Grease a sheet of foil large enough to cover the dressing with 1 tablespoon of the reserved bacon fat and place over the dressing. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake 15 minutes longer, or until the top is crispy to the touch and the interior of the dressing remains moist. Remove from the oven and set aside. Cover to keep warm until ready to serve.

Yield: 8 to 10 servings

Cornbread Dressing

Ingredients:

1 med. chopped onion

3/4 c. chopped celery

2 inch piece regular sausage, skinned and crumbled

1/2 stick butter

3 c. turkey stock or water and bouillon cubes

7 oz. pkg. premade stuffing mix

1/2 pan crumbled cornbread

Combine all ingredients except for one cup of the stock. Place into a greased baking pan or the turkey cavity. Pour the remaining cup of stock over the prepared cornbread dressing.

If baking in a pan, cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for half an hour. Remove foil and bake for another half hour.

Cornbread stuffing (made in a pan) makes a nice side dish in additional to regular stuffing and is really quite simple and quick to make. Make two pans of cornbread and serve one cut in squares with your Thanksgiving dinner.

She was inspired to work in some form of public service after hearing a speech in Chicago by the Reverend Martin Luther King and became a Democrat in 1968.

Rodham attended Wellesley College; she was active in student politics and was elected Senior Class president before she graduated in 1969. She then attended Yale Law School, where she met Bill Clinton. Graduating with honors in 1973, she also attended one post-graduate year of study on children and medicine at Yale Child Study Center.

Hillary worked at various jobs during her summers as a college student. In 1971, she first came to Washington, D.C to work on U.S. Senator Walter Mondale's subcommittee on migrant workers. In the summer of 1972, she worked in the western states for the campaign of Democratic presidential nominee George McGovern.

In the spring of 1974, Rodham became a member of the presidential impeachment inquiry staff, advising the Judiciary Committee of the House of Representatives during the Watergate Scandal. After President Richard M. Nixon resigned in August, she became a faculty member of the University of Arkansas Law School in Fayetteville, where her Yale Law School classmate and boyfriend Bill Clinton was teaching as well.

Rodham married Bill Clinton on October 11, 1975, at their home in Fayetteville. Before he proposed marriage, Clinton had secretly purchased a small house that she had remarked that she liked. When he proposed marriage to her and she accepted, he revealed that they owned the house. Their daughter, Chelsea Victoria, was born February 27, 1980.

In 1976, she worked on Jimmy Carter's successful campaign for president while husband Bill was elected Attorney General. He was elected governor in 1978 at age 32, lost re-election in 1980, but came back to win in 1982, 1984, 1986 (when the term of office was expanded from two to four years) and 1990.

Hillary joined the Rose Law Firm in Little Rock and in 1977 was appointed to part-time chairman of the Legal Services Corporation by President Carter. As First Lady of Arkansas for a dozen years (1979-1981, 1983-1992), she chaired the Arkansas Educational Standards Committee, co-founded the Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families and served on the boards of the Arkansas Children's Hospital, Legal Services and the Children's Defense Fund. She also served on the boards of TCBY and Wal-Mart. In 1988 and 1991, The National Law Journal named her one of the 100 most powerful lawyers in America. During the 1992 presidential campaign, she emerged as a dynamic and valued partner of her husband, and as president he named her to head the Task Force on National Health Reform (1993). The controversial commission produced a complicated plan which never came to the floor of either house. It was abandoned in September 1994.

Ingredients

For the topping:

* 2 medium onions, thinly sliced

* 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

* 2 tablespoons panko bread crumbs

* 1 teaspoon kosher salt

* Nonstick cooking spray

For beans and sauce:

* 2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon kosher salt, divided

* 1 pound fresh green beans, rinsed, trimmed and halved

* 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

* 12 ounces mushrooms, trimmed and cut into 1/2-inch pieces

* 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

* 2 cloves garlic, minced

* 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg

* 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

* 1 cup chicken broth

* 1 cup half-and-half

Directions

Preheat the oven to 475 degrees F.

Combine the onions, flour, panko and salt in a large mixing bowl and toss to combine. Coat a sheet pan with nonstick cooking spray and evenly spread the onions on the pan. Place the pan on the middle rack of the oven and bake until golden brown, approximately 30 minutes. Toss the onions 2 to 3 times during cooking. Once done, remove from the oven and set aside until ready to use. Turn the oven down to 400 degrees F.

While the onions are cooking, prepare the beans. Bring a gallon of water and 2 tablespoons of salt to a boil in an 8-quart saucepan. Add the beans and blanch for 5 minutes. Drain in a colander and immediately plunge the beans into a large bowl of ice water to stop the cooking. Drain and set aside.

Melt the butter in a 12-inch cast iron skillet set over medium-high heat. Add the mushrooms, 1 teaspoon salt and pepper and cook, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms begin to give up some of their liquid, approximately 4 to 5 minutes. Add the garlic and nutmeg and continue to cook for another 1 to 2 minutes. Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir to combine. Cook for 1 minute. Add the broth and simmer for 1 minute. Decrease the heat to medium-low and add the half-and-half. Cook until the mixture thickens, stirring occasionally, approximately 6 to 8 minutes.

Remove from the heat and stir in 1/4 of the onions and all of the green beans. Top with the remaining onions. Place into the oven and bake until bubbly, approximately 15 minutes. Remove and serve immediately.

After about an hour and 52 minutes of filler, host Tom Bergeron began by announcing the third-place couple, which was, to the surprise of no one, Kelly Osbourne and Louis van Amstel. The crowd booed lustily, but Kelly took it gracefully.

Donny inches closer: Each of the finalists repeated one of the season's dances. For the second night in a row, Kelly finished in third place, but this time, Donny finished ahead of Mya — placing those two in a tie in overall judges' scores and guaranteeing it would come down to fan votes. Right then, Donny should have smelled victory.

Big name: The “special musical guest” was Whitney Houston. Her voice is not the peerless instrument it was perhaps 15 years ago, but she demonstrated that she's still a solid performer. The first number was a song from her new album, but the second reached all the way back — “I Want To Dance With Somebody,” serving a little nostalgia to the eager crowd.

A festival of filler segments: There is never any shortage of fluff in a two-hour finale in which almost nothing happens. The Losers' Club, made up of those eliminated first, welcomed this year's inductee: Ashley Hamilton. (Remember him?) Hamilton was roasted by loser Jeffrey Ross, then performed briefly and painfully with his former partner. In other news of returning bad dancers, Adam Carolla did a segment in which he played the “mean coach” trying to get a victory for a man this time.

There were, of course, lengthy looks back at the events of past weeks, from Tom DeLay's broken feet to Aaron Carter's crying jag, and the past contestants all returned with varying degrees of success — including DeLay, who finally got his shot at the Texas Two-Step. Nothing was too goofy for those who were back: Donny even crooned his big hit “Puppy Love” for the dance of Chelsie Hightower and Louie Vito. Michael Irvin's return meant a dance-off with former contestant (and fellow NFL star) Jerry Rice, in which Michael emerged victorious.

Finally, Miss Piggy for some reason emceed an interview segment with former contestants Cloris Leachman, Jerry Springer, Steve Wozniak and Joanna Krupa, who then participated in a competition mambo with professional partners. The joke, you see, is that the first three of these people are terrible, and Krupa is excellent. Three stooges and a great beauty — get it? The joke was over quickly; the bit, sadly, was not.

A sudden destructive fire has forced road closures, evacuations and is threatening Orange County homes in Anaheim,CA.

Tonight (Tuesday) saw the onset of the fire at around 10PM. It moved quickly covering 20 acres in half an hour, then 35 acres by only 11.30 PM.

30 Fire engines and 100 firefighters were at the fire by 10.30 PM, with the fire burning south of 91.

The 241 Toll Road has now been closed at Windy Ridge. The fire is being assisted by the 50 mph humid winds which is prompting a red fire warning from the NWS.

Spokesman for the fire service are saying that the firefighters are working hard and performing excellently to extinguish the fire. And are in great hopes that they will be soon be able to contain it.

They also mentioned that the West is where they are trying to keep the fire away from , as it is in the direction of the residential area. So they are using their efforts to direct the fire in the eastern part.

At this present time there is no direct threat to residents in the area. Although if the firefighters are not able to keep the fire contained in the east, there will directions made to move people away from Anaheim Hills.

Residents of the area are being told to be ready for late night evacuations. As the fire is inching towards homes.

SkiFree is a computer game created by Chris Pirih, who was working as a programmer at Microsoft at the time. The object of the game is simple: to ski down an endless slope and avoid the obstacles.

Pirih had created SkiFree in C on his home computer for his own education and entertainment. The game eventually attracted the attention of a program manager for Microsoft Entertainment Pack when he noticed Pirih playing it at work, leading to the inclusion of the game in the next Entertainment Pack release with Pirih’s consent.

The game was featured in the Best of Windows Entertainment Pack and was available as a ported version for Macintosh. SkiFree was also one of seven games included in The Best of Entertainment Pack released for Game Boy Color in 2001.

In 1993, Pirih started work on a second version of the game, but it was abandoned for other projects as the original source code was lost.

On April 4, 2005, Pirih announced the rediscovery of the game’s source code and the creation of a 32-bit version of SkiFree. The updated version is available on his official SkiFree website.

Because the initial SkiFree release was a 16-bit Windows program, compatibility issues arose when running the game in newer versions of Windows. Pirih noted that users of Windows XP can configure the operating system to run 16-bit Windows programs, resolving the problem for some.

The problem has since been addressed as Pirih rediscovered the game’s source code in April 2005, and created a more compatible 32-bit version of the game.

Lavina Bhatia arrested for Kunal Singh’s death

Lavia Bhatia has been arrested in actor Kunal Singh murder case, who was found dead at his residence in February last year.

South Indian actor Kunal Singh had committed suicide at his residence in Oshiwara, northwest suburb of Mumbai. He hanged himself from the ceiling fan in his first floor flat in Windermere apartment.

The death took placed on February 6, 2008, at Singh’s residence in Windermere Apartment at Oshiwara. Singh and Bhatia were alone in the flat. Bhatia and Singh’s families knew each other and Singh’s father, Col Rajendra Singh, had introduced Bhatia to his son, instructing him to help her get work.

After the incident, in her statement to the police, Bhatia stated that she went into the toilet and when she came out after 10 minutes, she foundSingh hanging from the ceiling fan. But his dad was not convinced with the investigation and approached the high court.

Following this, a special team was formed to re-investigate the case. The officer stated that Bhatia was the only person in the flat when the incident took place and so she was prime suspect.

The Bombay High Court asked the police to re-look into Kunal’s alleged suicide case after the victim’s father, Rajendra, filed a petition that his son was murdered. After the court order, the case was re-investigated and amurder case was registered. Suspect Laveena was arrested on Sunday.

He was hanging from the ceiling fan of his rented apartment in Versova, surburban Mumbai. Kunal Singh worked in ‘Gangotri and Mai Baap’, Tamil film ‘Kadhalar Dinam’ and its Hindi remake ‘Dil Hi Dil Mein’ opposite Sonali Bendre.
Lavina and Kunal worked together in the film Yogi. She was in the house for some official work when incident happened. Last August Bombay high court ordered police to re-look the case after the victim’s father, Rajendra, filed a petition that his son was murdered. Inspector K Gadekar, Versova Police Station said

“After the court order, the case was re-investigated and a murder case was registered. We suspect Laveena’s role in the crime. She was arrested on Sunday under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code,”

Kunal’s father Rajendra said that he claimed Kunal’s body from the hospital and found many injury marks on the arms and chest which indicated that he was murdered and later hanged to indicate that it was a suicide. After the order of the court the case reopened and murder case is register by the police. On Sunday Lavina Bhatia was arrested by the police for investigation and in connection with the murder.

A product of Chicago public schools, Michelle studied sociology and African-American studies at Princeton University. After graduating from Harvard Law School in 1988, she joined the Chicago law firm Sidley & Austin, where she later met the man who would become the love of her life.

After a few years, Michelle decided her true calling lay in encouraging people to serve their communities and their neighbors. She served as assistant commissioner of planning and development in Chicago's City Hall before becoming the founding executive director of the Chicago chapter of Public Allies, an AmeriCorps program that prepares youth for public service.

In 1996, Michelle joined the University of Chicago with a vision of bringing campus and community together. As associate dean of student services, she developed the university's first community service program, and under her leadership as vice president of community and external affairs for the University of Chicago Medical Center, volunteerism skyrocketed.

As First Lady, Michelle Obama looks forward to continuing her work on the issues close to her heart — supporting military families, helping working women balance career and family, and encouraging national service.

First lady michelle obama offensive image - Google Apologizes

Search engine behemoth Google is apologizing for image-search results delivered for first lady Michelle Obama that show the No. 1 image of her online to be a racist caricature.

"We apologize if you've had an upsetting experience using Google. We hope you understand our position regarding offensive results," says a house ad from "the Google team" served up in conjunction with image results for queries on the first lady's name.

"Search results are a reflection of the content on the web. Our search results simply reflect what's out there," Google spokesman Scott Rubin explained. "According to the way our algorithm works, when we try to deliver the most relevant search results based on other pages that link to it and so on, this is what is returned."

He said it was possible that the image ranked so high because people were linking to it to condemn it, but noted that there was no way for the company to know for sure. Page rank is the result of "more than 500 million variables and 2 billion terms," according to Google.

"Because the image is offensive to many, we felt it was important to explain to our users why an image like that would appear," Rubin said.

The racist image was previously removed by Google in response to a complaint by Search Engine Roundtable, which objected that "If you conduct a search in Google Images for [Michelle Obama] you will see a racist image in the number one result."

But the image wasn't removed for being racist -- it was taken down because the site hosting it was also serving malware to user's computers, Rubin said. The image has since been reloaded onto another site that is not serving malware and under Google policy will remain there unless there is a further policy violation.

The Google team uses the house ad to hold the image at arm's length. "Sometimes Google search results from the Internet can include disturbing content, even from innocuous queries. We assure you that the views expressed by such sites are not in any way endorsed by Google," it says.

"A site's ranking in Google's search results relies heavily on computer algorithms using thousands of factors to calculate a page's relevance to a given query," the statement goes on to say. "The beliefs and preferences of those who work at Google, as well as the opinions of the general public, do not determine or impact our search results."

The company also used the house ad to clarify its policies on removing offensive content: "We do not remove a page from our search results simply because its content is unpopular or because we receive complaints concerning it. We will, however, remove pages from our results if we believe the page (or its site) violates our Webmaster Guidelines, if we believe we are required to do so by law, or at the request of the webmaster who is responsible for the page."

The emails were sent by some of the top climate change scientists in the nation and they are purported to contain numerous references to attempts to silence those who deny climate change (or at least the idea that humans are causing climate change). In one email, a researcher writes that he hopes to "keep [climate change skeptics] out somehow -- even if we have to redefine what the peer-review literature is!" The exact context of this quote isn't known, so it should be noted that drawing conclusions based on this short excerpt is probably unwise. That hasn't stopped climate change deniers from attempting to use this story to further their agenda, though.

Over 1000 emails and 2000 other documents were stolen last week when hackers broke into the computer system at the Climate Research Unit at East Anglia University. It isn't know who is behind the attack, but the files were posted on a Russian server.

Maybe I can grab this one, put it in my luggage and take it from New York,” Blair joked.

Thanksgiving started around the country in the mid-19th century, with the hope that it would help in healing the North-&-South divide. So, the Thanksgiving menu had to be a mix of the traditional North as well as the South recipes in a bid to placate the feelings of both the communities.

The main course is Turkey with cranberry sauce, because Turkey is an indigenous American bird. It was well known that Native Americans and the early colonists used cranberries to flavor meat, so obviously cranberry sauce had to be used to flavor turkey. And since Americans are great pie lovers so roast turkey, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie became religiously tied to this holiday.

Browns quarterback Brady Quinn has a thing for athletes. First it was soccer players and now it's gymnast Alicia Sacramone.

During the 2007 NFL Draft, as Quinn waited for nearly six hours in the Aaron Rodgers Memorial Green Room to hear his name called, then-girlfriend and former Miami of Ohio soccer player Lindy Singler loyally sat by his side as one team after another passed on the Notre Dame quarterback.

Jon and Kate Gosselin, what a difference a year (or less than a year) makes.

The "Jon & Kate Plus 8" couple and their brood enjoyed unprecedented series highs this past season in the wake of rumors of infidelity, which eventually made way for ugly divorce proceedings and now Monday's (Nov. 23) final episode of the TLC reality show.

The one-hour finale airing at 9 p.m. ET/PT follows the Gosselin children as they visit a dairy farm to feed baby calves and to a fire station. It's a bittersweet end since the cute kids were the reason many tuned into the show in the first place.

“I feel like it’s been taken from us, from me and the kids.” Kate Gosselin was talking about Jon & Kate Plus Eight, the TV series that ended this week after five seasons due to the disagreements between Jon and Kate. The hour mixed direct-to-camera, separate interviews with Kate (“The kids are already missing [the show]“) and Jon (“I became more educated about myself… I felt like I was free [after the separation]“).

The last edition followed its now-usual format: separate activities with each parent. Kate took the kids to an organic farm where cows were milked. Jon organized a lemonade stand to raise money for the local fire department. In a repulsive moment that typified why this series had to end, the older kids, twins Mady and Cara, started bickering and complaining as they worked on signs for the lemonade stand. One of them whined, “I like stuff we do with Mommy.” Jon, as though stung by this, immediately snapped, “Alright, you’re gonna go into the house. Both of you… You’re unappreciative.” Only the sextuplets were allowed to go to the firehouse and sell lemonade. The punishment didn’t fit the crime.

At one point, the fireman raised a truck ladder high into the sky and we heard one of those comments that used to make Jon & Kate such a pleasure. As the ladder rose, one of the kids chirped to a fireman, “You’re gonna hurt the birds!”
Many of you have asked why I continued to write about this show week after week. First, let’s be honest: It’s partly because so many of you wanted to talk about it in the Comments section. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, the Gosselins inspired a lot of response.

But there’s another reason. I started watching the show during its first season. I was just a casual viewer; the series didn’t have a season pass on my DVR. But if I was home or in a hotel room and an episode came on, I’d find that I’d always end up watching the entire thing, because the series was (hard as this is to believe now) completely charming. I remember most of the episodes they showed this last night in a quick montage, whether it was family movie-night, or the clan’s once-annual walk to the local Fourth of July parade, the little ones waddling along behind Jon and Kate like ducklings. The kids were adorable and funny, and the interactions between Jon and Kate seemed unguarded, fresh, often amusing, and sometimes provocative.

Provocative because Kate’s strict rules about order, discipline, cleanliness, and healthy nutrition sometimes smacked into Jon’s more laid-back, what-did-I-get-myself-into attitude. But the yelling and the bickering was always the exception, not the rule.

I would guess that the majority of those of you who’ve written negative comments about Jon & Kate here only started watching less than a year ago, after the episode in which Jon and Kate renewed their marriage vows in Hawaii. You’d probably read something that was just starting to emerge on-camera: the fighting was more intense, it was bitter. It was reality TV that wasn’t a goof or a lark; these weren’t (yet) wealthy celebrities; these weren’t zonked-out, pampered pop stars, or spoiled-brat L.A. or Manhattan twerps. These were suburban parents trying to come to terms with the dissolution of their union and their sudden fame as tabloid figures.

All that stuff ruined Jon & Kate Plus Eight. Some old-faithful viewers dropped out in disgust. But I and many, many people who were charmed by the initial seasons couldn’t help but see it through to the end. Think of it like, oh, like being a fan of Heroes — there’s a chunk of its audience that’s hanging in there, because those viewers feel they’ve put in the time and want to see how it ends.
Well, this week, we saw how Jon & Kate Plus Eight ends. Parents in separate places, justifying their behavior, when they should be worried about just one thing:
Whether or not they’re going to hurt the kids — hurt those “little birds.”

Nicks says, “Adam Lambert's performance at the AMA was the most disgusting and degrading performance I ever saw in my life. I am praying that the doesn't last long as an entertainer to pervert our young people more than they have been over the years. He needs to go back in the closet...”

June T. says, “I am so very sad that this is the way that Adam felt he had to act to get attention. He has an abundance of talent however none was present during that performance! He hurt himself last night because people won't soon forget what they saw and that sort of in your face entertainment isn't what parents want for their children. According to reports of different media Jimmy Clausen was punched. He was punched outside CJ’s, a South Bend burger joint on Saturday evening. Jimmy Clausen was punched by a fan after having lunch with family and friends. He was hit hard by the fan and left him with swollen eyes.

The reason for this attack is still not confirm. Restaurant’s spokesperson clearly denies that the incident happened in the premises of the Restaurant. Police spokesman at South Bend said that no police report has been lodged of this incident.

One of the employee of the restaurant said that the incident happened when Jimmy Clausen came to restaurant with his family and team mates after the Notre Dame loss to Connecticut on Senior Day. He also said that the incident happened when an angry fan said something to the female family member of Jimmy Clausen present with him.

It is doubted that Jimmy Clausen may miss any forthcoming matches due to his injury. It is not the first time ha has been involved in the off field attack it also happened in the past. The person and the actual reason of the attack on Jimmy Clausen are still not known. The entire situation will be clear in few days.

The Babri Masjid was a mosque in Ayodhya, constructed by order of Babur, the first Mughal emperor of India in the 16th century. Before the 1940s, the mosque was called Masjid-i Janmasthan (”mosque of the birthplace”). The mosque stood on Ramkot (”Rama’s fort”) Hill (also called Janmasthan (”Birthplace”)), It was destroyed by Hindu nationalists, 150,000 strong, during a planned ceremony on December 6, 1992 despite a commitment to the Indian Supreme Court that the mosque would not be harmed.

It is alleged Babur’s commander-in-chief, Mir Baqi, destroyed an existing temple at the site, which some Hindus believe was the temple built to commemorate the birthplace of Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu and ruler of Ayodhya (see Ram Janmabhoomi). The Babri Mosque was one of the largest mosques in Uttar Pradesh, a state in India with some 31 million Muslims. Although there were several older mosques in the city of Ayodhya, an area with a substantial Muslim population, including the Hazrat Bal Mosque constructed by the Shariqi kings, the Babri Mosque became the largest, due to the importance of the disputed site.

Some historians claim that there was no original temple in Ayodhya (despite the fact that according to Ramayana, Ayodhya was the birthplace and capital of Sri Rama) - but whether the Ayodhya of today is also the Ayodhya of the Ramayana is open to debate. The Ancient Hindu Scripture Brahma Purana [4.4.91] cites Ayodhya as the premier city of the six holy cities - (the other being Mathura, Haridvar, Kashi, Kanchi and Ujjain). The great Saint-Poet Tulsidas commenced the writing of his Ramayana (Shri Rama Charit Manas) in Ayodhya, in 1574. The earliest known inscription to testify worship of Rama is found in the Nasik cave inscription dating back to AD 150. evolution of the tradition of Shri Rama worship at least from AD 300 is established by the early shrines surviving at ancient Ramagiri hills, 30 km from Nagpur.

It must be the shoes. After a few years out of the musical spotlight, Jennifer Lopez was clearly hoping to make a triumphant comeback on Sunday night at American Music Awards with a boxing-themed performance of her new homage to pricey shoes, "Louboutins."

Unfortunately for J. Lo, she lost her footing about halfway into the routine and briefly ended up on her famous derriere. Before Adam Lambert closed the show with a jaw-dropping routine that also included a slip that the musical theater vet deftly turned into a tuck and roll that almost felt choreographed, Jenny from the Block was not so lucky when she stumbled.

The fall came after Lopez walked up the backs of five of her dancers, who were arrayed like a set of steps. As jumped off the back of the top "step," her feet slid under her and she fell on her bottom. Always a pro, though, Lopez jumped right up and played it off as she segued into a solo dance spotlight, busting some moves as the phrase "The champ is here" played over the thumping beat.

Earlier, boxing announcer Michael Buffer gave Lopez the "Are you ready to rumble?" treatment as she was walked to the ring/stage by an entourage carrying a fake championship belt and flanked by male dancers in boxing shorts. Wearing a modified boxing robe with, Love?, the name of her upcoming album, on the back, Lopez lip-synched the mid-tempo dance tune. Near the end of the song, she pulled off an onstage costume change when her dancers helped her into a shiny gold mini-dress.

Janet Jackson. So, supposedly the American Music Awards were going to open with a performance from Janet, and that's technically what happened. Except Janet's performance was largely a commercial for her "Number Ones," in which the singer, in a tan outfit that looked like it was ripped straight from the racks at REI, performed a medley of her hits. Imagine going to Amazon.com and clicking on a bunch of song samples from her two-disc set. That's largely what this performance was -- it's "Miss You Much"! and now it's "What Have You Done for Me Lately"! -- and if you were a Janet fan, you surely enjoyed this swift little medley. It was a safe and solid opening, and it gets a slight bonus for focusing entirely on Janet and not becoming another Michael tribute, so B-.

Daughtry. Boom! Nothing ignites the excitement of a three-hour award show like a mid-tempo rock ballad from heartland rockers Daughtry. "No, there's no life after you," leader Chris Daughtry sings through gritted teeth, trying to muster some importance out of these tepid lyrics and lightly strummed electric guitars. This type of song is typically saved for the moments during an arena show when a band says, "This one is for the ladies," and everyone goes and buys a hot dog. D

Shakira. Rather than perform "She Wolf," Shakira opts for her more recent single "Give It Up to Me," and turns in a performance worthy of Broadway's "STOMP." A little militant, and a little bit "Single Ladies," Shakira's minimalistic outfit matched the sparseness of the song. Her dancing didn't match the oddness of "She Wolf," but it was aggressive, and put the viewer on the defensive. B

Keith Urban. In case Shakira was too risque for you, don't worry -- the AMAs went right back to PG with Urban's good-time country rocker, "Kiss a Girl." The AMAs have gone back and forth between sexy and middle-of-the-road thus far, and Urban, sporting a slightly shiny Western shirt, kept things simple and to the point. "Say goodbye to all the rules," he sings in the song, but this country-crossover rocker never strays from them. B-

Kelly Clarkson. Yes, she had an album this year -- don't forget! -- and she sold it well tonight with a solid take on "Already Gone." Looking glamorous and sounding terrific, Clarkson was a classic throwback, a reminder of a time when "American Idol" didn't make all artists think they had to over-sing. B+

Alicia Keys and Jay-Z. Dressed all spiffy in their finest formal wear, Keys and Jay-Z performed their pandering "Empire State of Mind." This was fine the first time we heard it on an award show -- at the MTV Video Music Awards, and it was fine at the World Series, but enough. It's worn out its welcome. Yes, we know New York is cool. Bars are open late and the public transportation is swell and all, but performing this love letter to New York in Los Angeles? We're tired of it. No more songs about cities. D Side-note: The introduction by Alex Rodriguez gets an F. And was he chewing gum? He's unprofessional off the field too.

The Black Eyed Peas. The Los Angeles popsters received a showcase performance, getting to offer live takes of "Meet Me Halfway" and "Boom Boom Pow," two of the most ubiquitous songs of the year. Viewers were reminded of this fact repeatedly, with their sales constantly hyped, and the Black Eyed Peas declaring themselves "the new kings" at the end of their performance. On record, "Meet Me Halfway" is all electronic futurism. Live, it was a bit messier, but there was plenty of eye candy in this extended performance. Crazy wigs and stereo outfits and some crowd-pleasing samples of C+C Music Factory and Nirvana. It was all pop-culture nonsense, and that's what the Black Eyed Peas excel at. B+

Rihanna. Ne-Yo told us that the "R" in her "Rated R" stands for either "remarkable" or "really, really sexy." Not quite sure if it completely hit both of those notes, but it was definitely over too soon. Performing in a sort of sci-fi junkyard, Rihanna came onstage in what could have been a torture device. Like Lady Gaga and the Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna is definitely tapping into the cyborg pop mentality that's all the rage at the moment (nice spikes on the shoulders). She gave us snippets of two songs from "Rated R" -- "Wait Your Turn" and "Hard" -- but it would have been better to just stick with one. To her credit, she sounded sharp, metallic and owned the songs. The night's best performance thus far. A-

Carrie Underwood. Was it really just a week ago that this song was performed on the Country Music Assn. Awards? There were fewer nods to Nashville tonight, or maybe it was just too hard to focus on the slide guitar when Underwood was sporting some kind of half-dress, half-lingerie outfit, and the band was nowhere to be seen. This wasn't about the song; it was about her strutting around onstage. C

Lady Gaga. Coming onstage like a creature from "Pan's Labyrinth," Lady Gaga was all twitchy masked dance moves for this two-song medley. That was a good thing, as her "Bad Romance" is a bit of a mess, ultimately falling back on the retro-synth choruses that Gaga can't resist. There was broken glass and a flaming piano (no flaming bras, sadly), and Gaga showed off her pipes on "Speechless" as she got violent with some water bottles. Gaga makes for entertaining television, no doubt, but at some point she's going to need more than just crazy masks, pryo and fake blood. C+

Mary J. Blige. Her "I Am" isn't a knock-out on par with "I Can See in Color," but it's the type of ballad Blige can perfectly deliver in her sleep. On a night were futuristic flash and bare skin were all the rage, Blige kept it lovingly old school. B

Jennifer Lopez. Given an elaborate stage with a fake boxing ring, Lopez was hyped as "the main event." She wasn't. Her "comeback" single, "Louboutins," is a silly little trifle, and that may even be too complimentary. She sounded Auto-Tuned for the entire performance, and the title is a ridiculous word to repeat multiple times in a pop song. But it'll sell some shoes this holiday season, so maybe some retailers are stoked. D

Whitney Houston. She received a standing ovation, and it was deserved. With "I Didn't Know My Own Strength," Houston hollered and showed a bit of a rasp. If her instrument isn't what it once was, it can still silence a room. Compared to Blige a few songs ago, Houston was perhaps a bit over the top, but she belted until she was nearly out of breath. It was a powerful moment. But the angelic background lighting? Could have done without that. A-

Alicia Keys. Getting a chance to redeem herself for her earlier performance, Keys drops her new single, "Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart," in her second performance of the evening, touching on a bit of '70s R&B vibe. Her gold-draped jacket will dominate the gossip sites Monday, and the single's good too. Keys doesn't belt at the top of her lungs here, and though I prefer her when she's at the piano (she sat down and played in the song's final moments), she's softly restrained for much of the song. The background dancers, copping some vintage "West Side Story" Broadway moves, were cute to boot. B+

Eminem and 50 Cent. The censors worked overtime in this collaboration for "Crack a Bottle," as there was more silence than music. That about sums up the performance as well, as this was all offensive swagger. But it didn't shock -- it was simply kind of annoying. D

Timbaland, SoShy and Nelly Furtado. This song needed a little more Nelly Furtado and a little less Timbaland, but the producer-rapper certainly keeps good company. This slinky dance-floor cut excels when newbie SoShy and Furtado trade vocals, and hits a bit of a wall when Timbaland controls the microphone. B

Green Day. Here to perform recent single "21 Guns." It's the least exciting of the singles from "21st Century Breakdown," but it does show off the band's more theatrical, serious side. With all its stops and starts, and on-the-sleeve crooning from Billie Joe Armstrong, it certainly feels important, but it never quite takes off. B-

Adam Lambert. You wouldn't have seen this on "American Idol," a show that has broadcast its share of monstrosities. Borrowing some of Rihanna's shoulder spikes and torture devices, Lambert dragged women around onstage and got frisky with dudes, all in what seemed like an overly calculated way to show himself off as some sort of glam-gone-dangerous artist -- and to instantly distance Lambert from the family-friendly "Idol" fare. It all would have been forgivable if the song actually had a hook. Lambert has the voice, and a charisma that stands out in today's pop music landscape, but this was provocation by the numbers. D

Ryan Seacrest was there to introduce Adam Lambert on Sunday night, but his American Music Awards performance of "For Your Entertainment" was a long way removed from the family-friendly confines of "American Idol." There was groping, dragging and bondage outfits, bringing the ABC program to an end with theatrical images of sexual slavery.

"It's about to get rough," Lambert sings in the song's opening moments, and for many of Pop & Hiss' readers, it went too far. Within minutes of the American Music Awards coming to an end, irate viewers had begun writing in. Reader Kathie Kunish declared that the telecast should have been rated "PG-14," and user "penny" noted that she had to cover the eyes of her 10-year-old daughter.

Reader Richard Bowen agreed, posting on Pop & Hiss, "I know he wants to break out and show the world his dangerous side, but why alienate an entire population of kids to do it?"
Lambert wasn't the only former "American Idol" contestant to get risqué. Earlier in the night, Carrie Underwood strutted in a pants-less outfit, but the country star was still a long way removed from Lambert's sexually suggestive performance. With a crotch rub and a make-out session with a band member, Lambert sent tongues wagging and the Twittisphere erupting in controversy, bolting to the top of the site's trending topics.

"The energy felt good. Adrenaline is a crazy thing to feel," Lambert said to Pop & Hiss after the show. "That's what I love about performing. I'm hoping people were entertained. For those who weren't, maybe I'm not their cup of tea."

When asked if he thought the most extreme moments would be edited out of the West Coast broadcast, Lambert wasn't shy about how he would react to such a move.

Tum Mile Movie Review Online | Tum Mile 2009 Review | Tum Mile Review

Ali Taha (Emraan Hashmi) and Sanjana (Soha Ali Khan) are two people with a history, on a flight back to Mumbai.

They land in Mumbai to witness the devastating Mumbai monsoon on 26th July 2005.

While they struggle to make it through the flooded streets of Mumbai, the past catches up with them – how they met and how it ended.

As the rain’s fury beats down on the city, Ali and Sanjana discover each other all over again.

Tum Miley is a good performance movie. some scene shooted fantastic but some scene of like movie Titanic and in india most of people watch titanik atleast more than time. so we expect more this movie. but movie can't do it. Sound is a best part of this movie and plus point is movie.

Vishesh Films, Kunal Deshmukh & Emraan Hashmi trio is back with another romantic movie written around a plot based on real life. After his successful directorial debut in “Jannat”, this time Kunal tries his hands on a (so called) disaster movie depicting the unforgettable trauma faced by Mumbai on 26th July, 2005. The tough days which are still fresh in the mind of every Mumbaikar, saw Mumbai in a very unimaginable state with a flood like situation leading to huge physical and monetary losses everywhere in the city.

So obviously there were enormous expectations from the movie, coming from a director, who already had a well made realistic movie to his credit. Moreover, “Tum Mile” was also being projected as the first major attempt in the genre of “Disaster Movies” in Hindi Film Industry though its promotional campaign, TV Promos and Posters. But after watching it, you actually feel like cheated by its promoters because the film which was heavily advertised with the scenes depicting the Mumbai Floods, actually has only a few minutes talking about the disaster and too not in a very convincing way.

It starts nicely with a well written in-flight sequence, where both Emraan & Soha get to meet each other after many years and remember the good times spent together in flashbacks. The movie moves ahead following the same pattern of “Jannat” wherein first the romance is established between the lead couple and then the real plot is revealed after a few romantic numbers. But in “Tim Mile”, Kunal stresses too much on the romance part and pays very less attention on the disaster element which actually should have been given the center stage.

Till intermission the narration keeps moving into the past and present lives of the couple and along with that also tries to establish the base for the Flood sequences. But the excessive emphasis on the romance part fails to create the required curiosity level, which is a must for a disaster movie. The strong build-up leading towards the watery climax is simply missing.

Post interval, the viewer becomes desperate of watching the flood stuff and really wants to see how it is done in a Hindi movie, but he still has to wait till the end. The main over-publicized rain scenes actually come only towards the climax and those too finish off too soon without making an impact with no worth seeing graphical creations as expected. In addition to this there is no account of any mass human suffering, pain or loss faced by the people due to that unexpected natural calamity. Though the flood sequences has been shot competitively in a street set which must have been a tough task for the whole team, but in the end it is too plain to make you feel for it.

Otherwise, the movie has a good romantic story going on with a few good scenes and dialogues coming at regular intervals. Both Emraan & Soha have given good performances as required by an intense love story. They emote and relate well on screen. But Emraan now has to move on to some completely different roles in his career. He looks like doing the different & improvised versions of his own lover boy characters from his previous movies. Soha on the other hand gives a mature performance as a true lover caught between the choice of her career and love. Mantra, as Emraan’s friend makes a good impact throughout and Sachin Khedekar is hardly there for only one scene.

Hence, it all comes down to the wrong promotion of the movie, where it doesn’t deliver what it promised. Also, the writing falters at many places which is clearly visible to the least interested viewer too. For instance, a person coming to check your Electronic Meter abroad in a pure Indian style, people moving out of a drowning bus leaving a small child alone, the child’s mother is also shown out of the bus crying for help. The script also majorly fails to use the flood sequences resulting into the re-union of the lovers. After one hour, anyone can guess that the story will now end in the floods where Emraan would save Soha and they will both fall in love again. And that’s where Kunal fails to make an impact this time. There is no surprise climax in “Tum Mile” which was incidentally one of the major attractions of his “Jannat”.

Musically, the soundtrack again has some good songs from the ever consistent Pritam. Though not as compelling and rich in lyrics, as his other recent hits, but still they sound good while watching the movie. However as usual, not all songs were needed in the script, which also needed crispier editing. Cinematography, Graphics and Art direction is fine, but nothing path breaking. In fact it is nowhere close to the other epic disaster movie “2012” which also releases this Friday. So, if you want to see a real disaster movie with breathtaking sequences and magical graphics on the screen then your choice should be clear after reading this.

Bollywood actress and Celebrity Big Brother star Shilpa Shetty married London-based businessman Raj Kundra in a "fairy-tale wedding" on Sunday, her spokeswoman said.

Shetty, 34, clad in a red-and-gold saree, walked around a holy fire with Kundra in a traditional Hindu ritual that signifies the bond of marriage.

"She was surrounded by her closest friends and family and the wedding was conducted in traditional south Indian rituals," Shetty's spokeswoman told Reuters over phone.

"This is it!" Shetty wrote on her blog (www.shilpashettylive.com/blog) a few hours before the ceremony took place in Khandala, a hill station 200 kilometres from Mumbai.

Shetty and Kundra met in London soon after she shot to fame as the winner of the British reality show 'Celebrity Big Brother' in a controversial 2007 season that saw contestant Jade Goody hurl abuse at Shetty, making fun of her name and her Indian origin.

The actress went on to host Bigg Boss, the Indian version of Big Brother, and also launched several business ventures, including a yoga video and a series of health spas.

On Tuesday, Shetty and Kundra will host a wedding reception in Mumbai, with the who's who of Bollywood expected to be in attendance.

Sachin Tendulkar 30000 Runs Highest Scorer

Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar has reached yet another milestone in his career by completing a phenomenal 30,000 runs in International Cricket during the ongoing 1st Test Match of India vs Sri Lanka at Ahmedabad on Friday, 20th November 2009.

Tendulkar, who completed 20 glorious years in cricket on last Sunday, 15th November 2009, needed just 35 runs to reach the landmark at the start of India’s second innings in the Ahmedabad Test against Sri Lanka. He got the landmark tucking Chanaka Welegedera for a single through midwicket.

Tendulkar is the highest run scorer in both Test matches and ODIs, and also the batsman with the most centuries in either form of the game. The first player to score fifty centuries in all international cricket combined, he now has eighty-seven international centuries.

Tendulkar has 17,178 runs in ODI cricket, 10 runs in the only T20 International he’s played, and 12,812 Test runs at the time the landmark was reached.

Tendulkar at 30,000 runs is followed by Australian captain Ricky Ponting, who had recently crossed 24,000 runs.

Earlier, Sri Lanka had made a record score of 760-7 replying to India’s first innings score of 426.

The wicket’s still good and it’s likely India would be able to save this Test playing positively.

One person was killed and another seriously injured when a tour bus belonging to Disney starlet Miley Cyrus overturned on Interstate 85 in rural Dinwiddie County, Virginia overnight.

Cyrus was not on board at the time of the crash.

The accident happened on I-85 south near mile marker 56 in Dinwiddie County, that’s about 45-minutes south of Richmond, Virginia. There were 15 passengers on the bus when it careened out of control and flipped on its side Thursday night, according to Virginia State Police officials. Miley was reportedly on a bus that was part of a 4-vehicle caravan, which included the bus that overturned. The driver of the bus was killed on impact, but authorities are withholding that person’s name pending notification of their next of kin.

Police investigators
say the roads were slick from heavy rainfall Thursday evening, but they’ve not yet determined the cause of the accident.

According Miley’s website, the singer/actress is scheduled to perform in Greensboro, N.C. on Sunday.

Christina Ambers, once dubbed the "Heidi Klum of foot models," says a romance with her porter-turned-husband, Angel Rotger, turned her into a pariah among workers at 340 E. 74th St., who made her hail taxis and retrieve packages on her own.

"I hope that people can understand how awful it is to come home and to then be treated with hostility in a building where I have paid a lot of money to live," Ambers told the Daily News. "Nobody should have to live this way."

The brown-haired beauty, whose hands and feet have starred in ad campaigns for Maybelline, Harry Winston and the TV show "Rescue Me," married Rotger in July after he swept her off her feet in 2007 while he was working at the building.

"The people in this building need to come into the 21st century," Ambers said. "I fell in love with Angel because he is a sweet, caring man - how dare they look down on us!"

The "Upstairs, Downstairs" relationship cost Rotger his job, the suit says, and exposed the couple to torrents of abuse - including a painful August encounter between Rotger's private parts and the handbag of the building superintendent's wife.

The $10 million suit, filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, accuses the super's wife - identified by building residents as Kristin Purcell - of boozily slugging Rotger in the groin.

"He made his way to the hospital and was diagnosed with a contusion," Ambers said. "Can you imagine how hard she must have hit him to have caused a contusion?"

Ambers, who bought her 700-square-foot apartment in 2003, previously tangled with building management over problems with her floor that she said were caused by a leak. The feud grew even uglier once she paired off with Rotger.

"It seems that Christina has breached some type of social order that existed in that building," said Joshua Price, a lawyer for the newlyweds. "There's no question that they've been made to feel like outcasts."

A lawyer for the building said the co-op board firmly backs building super Martin Purcell and his wife.

"The board will vigorously defend the allegations made by Ms. Ambers," Joe Colbert said. "The claims have no merit."

Martin Purcell declined to comment, and his wife could not be reached.

Residents in the building, also known as the Avon House, trashed Ambers as a potty-mouthed neighbor from hell who parades around in skimpy outfits.

"She's the biggest problem in the building," griped one woman, who declined to give her name.

New York magazine called Ambers - who wears size 8-1/2 shoes - the "Heidi Klum" of the foot and hand set during a career in which she also has modeled for Anne Klein, Oil of Olay and Heineken.

Rotger lived in the Bronx before moving on up to the East Side and romancing the model.

"In this day and age, there should be nothing wrong with our relationship," Ambers said.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon could easily dislodge the reigning champion 2012 at the box office worldwide and perhaps earn as much as $200 million over the weekend. This means its estimated production cost of $70 will be more than covered in just three days. But it will not be the only film creating a smash week for Hollywood.
The dark, harrowing and life-affirming story of an African American teenager Precious could further consolidate its box office and Oscar and Golden Globe nomination prospects over the weekend. Last week, it was at the third spot in the North American charts although it was playing in just 200 theatres. It expands to about 620 theatres today. This weekend, it may climb down the charts because of New Moon and the Sandra Bullock-starrer The Blind Side.
Hollywood is betting that New Moon will gross at least $90 million in three days in North America alone, never mind how rotten the reviews are.
New Moon is one of the most anticipated films of the year, based on Stephenie Meyer's international bestseller. It tells the story of star-crossed lovers Bella (Kristen Stewart ) and Edward (Robert Pattinson), who find themselves fighting new obstacles, including a separation, the appearance of werewolves, a threat of revenge from a female vampire and an encounter with a royal family of vampires, the Volturi.

Playing a big role in the film is Taylor Lautner, who has become a heartthrob of million of teen girls worldwide like Patterson.

The film has been directed by Chris Weitz (The Golden Compass, American Pie).
Boston Herald called the film Bad 'Moon Rising,' and declared fans 'must realise they've been shortchanged by a production company more interested cash flow than making a quality movie.'
Some reviewers complained that Weitz did not invest the film with raw energy.

Constrained by the plot of the novel, the film keeps the two lovers apart for quite a spell, robbing the project of the crazy-in-love energy that made Twilight, the first entry in the series, such a guilty pleasure.
The new films marks the franchise's entrance 'into the self-protective, don't rock the boat phase of its existence, which is inevitable but a bit of a shame,' complained Los Angeles Times.

'In place of Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke, a filmmaker of intense, sometimes overwhelming and out of control emotionality who seemed to feel these teenage characters in her bones, New Moon has gone with the more polished Chris Weitz,' the newspaper continued.

The Toronto Star headlined its review calling the film 'sillier, stupider' than the first in the series.

'I overlooked, even forgave, the goofiness of Twilight,' wrote Kevin Williamson, 'and accepted it for what it was: A feverish, heartfelt extrapolation of an adolescent girl's internal monologue. Who was I to judge? Besides, flush with newfound cash and confidence, surely the sequel would be an improvement, right?'

Though last week's worldwide phenomenon 2012, which made an awesome $250 million in its first week, is expected to take a big dive over the weekend (most action films that open big in the first week dive by about 50 percent in the next week), it is still going to be a formidable player. With the new films pulling in big numbers, and A Christmas Carol continuing to do decent business, Hollywood could have one of the best weeks ever at the worldwide box office.

Google demonstrated for the first time its Google Chrome OS, a Web-centric operating system set to be officially released late 2010.

Google opened its doors to the press Thursday to show off its hotly anticipated Chrome operating system for the first time. In a small auditorium in Mountain View, California, Google VP of Product Development Sundar Pichai took to the stage to give us a demonstration of what Chrome OS actually is. Some rumors were confirmed, others dispelled, as the operating system emerged into the light of day. Here's what we now know about Google's Chrome OS.

"As of today, the code will be fully open," Pichai said. In fact, shortly before the press event began, the unofficial Google OS blog announced public availability of the Chrome OS source code. With this code now in the hands of the open source community, it shouldn't be long before various builds of the code end up trickling onto the Web.

Chrome OS vs. Browser

To explain why Google decided to take on the OS project in the first place, Pichai put the project into context of the existing Chrome Web browser, which now has more than 40 million users worldwide. The browser is currently available only for Windows, though Mac and Linux versions will be available before the end of the year. "The Mac version is nearly ready," said Pichai, who is using it as his primary browser on his own machine.

In addition to new versions for Mac OS X and Linux, Google is nearing the release of browser extensions like those found on Firefox and Internet Explorer. One differentiating point is that Chrome extensions will be automatically updated by the browser, simplifying the process of keeping your favorite extensions working when the browser is updated, which is an issue that currently frustrates many users of mainstream browsers.

HTML5 is a core driver behind Google's Chrome OS strategy. "We're all used to running rich games on our personal computer. We wanted to be able to run the same rich games in the browser," Pichai said. An important facet of HTML5 is that it allows Web apps to address the PC's processor and other hardware resources to run 3-D graphics, video, and audio locally on the PC, and address local storage. Perhaps surprisingly, Google has also been working with other browser vendors to increase support for HTML5.

Chrome OS

According to Pichai, one of the principal motivations behind creating a Chome operating system is speed. Pichai repeatedly alluded to Google's desire to make the computing experience more like a TV viewing experience in both simplicity and speed. "From the time you press boot, you want it to be like a TV," he said. "Chrome on Chrome OS will be even faster than Chrome." The meaning here is clear: Google wants to build an instant-on device that lets users get on the Web as quickly as they could turn on a TV. But it also means the company is pushing to make a more streamlined OS that requires less hardware and includes fewer background processes that eat into system resources.

Kurbaan meaning ‘Sacrificed’ is finally hitting the theatres the morrow. This much-anticipated film starring real life couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor has been in the news for all the wrong reasons, which has made the public curious. It is a film based on global terrorism but the talking point all these days has been the sensational scenes between the lovebirds.

The story of the film goes like this:- Avantika Ahuja (Kareena Kapoor) returns to India from the US following her father suffering cardiac arrest. She meets Ehsaan (Saif Ali Khan), who is a Delhi University Professor. Avantika teaches Psychology in the University while Ehsaan teaches Islamic studies and the Islamic movement. Love blossoms and they end up in marriage.

The couple moves to the US. There, Avantika come to know that Ehsaan has been using her to fulfill his plan. He turns out to be a terrorist. The truth is that he married her to cover up his identity. Avantika finds out that her hubby is planning to hijack a plane, which has a person by name Riyaaz (Vivek Oberoi), who is a journalist. What follow is lots of twists and turns.

From what has been witnessed in the last couple of months, the unrestrained chemistry between the lead pair Saif and Kareena, would be one of the highlights of the film though it has terrorism as its backdrop. As expected, they created a stir with a topless poster. They have even talked about their lovemaking scene openly. Kareena even said that she didn’t want her mother Babita to see the bold scene, as she is scared how she would react to it.

The film also invited the wrath of the Siv Sena party for the bare back poster in spite of the common knowledge that it is based on terrorism. They threatened to stop its screening if the makers of the film don’t delete the particular scene. It has already been passed by the Censor Board with an A certificate but it is yet to be seen if the Siv Sena will disturb its screening.

Kurbaan, produced by Karan Johar and directed by Rensil D’Silva, also features actors like Vivek Oberoi, Rupinder Nagra, Om Puri and Kirron Kher in various vital roles. It is releasing tomorrow, November 20.
